ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I don't always speak in the third person, but when I do, I do it while blogging.
Blog safely, my friends.
A father, husband, martial artist, techie, gamer, and almost everything else, I am a flawed human being aspiring to be great. I have had more bumps in my life than I would care to share, but I am still fortunate compared to many others.
I have lived a fairly unique life as an American. My father came to this country almost 50 years ago from Pakistan as an airplane engineer. After putting himself through school while married with two children, he managed to earn his bachelor of arts degree. Later moving close to the Big Apple, he spent nearly two decades working on Wall Street as a VP for certain major financial firms. Both he and my mother had four children, although one had her wings clipped and fell back to heaven. As Muslim-Americans, we grew up getting picked on like every other minority, mostly just being called 'dothead' or 'Indian'. We were pretty under the radar back then even though we were raised in a Jewish community. We lived in the outdoors and played with our neighbors. God bless our parents for providing us with the perfect childhood.
As I got a bit older, I began learning taekwondo and began referring to my self as Frank Deux from Jean-Claude Van Damme's Bloodsport. Several years later I tried something different and took up boxing. After hitting the pinnacle of non-competition training, I was faced with either having to compete and make the gym my full-time priority or focusing on my career. Hence, I chose my career. A few years later I was fortunate enough to come across an actual ninja school. YES, they still do exist here and there. The lineage of the ninja never died out and is both well-documented and accepted by a large part of the Japanese people. In today's age where martial arts are readily available around the entire world, it is no surprise that it snuck its way to the shores of the U.S.
Otherwise, I am a pretty normal guy. I love smoking hookah aka shisha, I enjoy making new friends, I play video games both on the PC and Xbox One, I enjoy being around nature, though I like all kinds of music house and trace take the cake, traveling is fun when I can, and I am an IT nerd in the field of analysis. I like watching Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead, so yes you can talk to me about those and we can geek out together. Most importantly, my faith as a Muslim is my guiding path in life. I consider my faith quite strong yet I also consider myself highly spiritual. Being able to maintain my beliefs in Ninpo, or the lifestyle of the ninja, certainly makes finding a balance in my life much easier.
I hail from a fairly talented family. My father was the first in our family to travel to and live in the U.S. 50 years ago and has since helped bring several other extended families here throughout the years. My mother was more of a traditional mother but still the loving and innocent backbone that has bound us together all these years. One of my sisters is currently studying biological diseases on a totally free scholarship for her PhD while also teaching high school biology courses. My other sister is a former Miss World pageant and is currently the host of a worldwide TV show. And as for me, well, my stunning good looks balances the family out.
I also tend to be incredibly sarcastic.
